An Exclusive Interview By A.C. Mann
As the world grasps with information overload of what a new reality may look like, some areas of life are slowly re-emerging. There is a guarded optimism that things will be all right and that we will be stronger, wiser, and more appreciative of the things we may have taken for granted. Included in this awakening; are those who have entertained and inspired us all: the fighters of LFC. This is just a short look into what some of our fighters have gone through. The LFC team is thankful for their time to thoughtfully recount what the last few months have meant.
Quarantine Questions with Tai Emery
A.C.: How have you been keeping busy during this unfortunate downtime?
Tai: There hasn’t been too much change to my daily routine during COVID. At this stage, I still live by my training timetable.
A.C.: Are you able to train sufficiently?
Tai: Currently in Thailand there is complete COVID shut down. I am living on the premise of The Powerhouse Gym, Phuket. So, no training is permitted, just self work outs.
A.C.: Have you (or anyone you know) been affected in any way by the Coronavirus?
Tai: Yes, one of my mate’s Mother died of COVID. That makes it very real very fast.
A.C.: Have you found a new hobby with all the free time?
Tai: Maybe not a new hobby, but I have been able to steer my training block to have focus on my Bikram Yoga practice.
A.C.: Any immediate plans after the restrictions are lifted?
Tai: Going to the beach to Sun myself and sit in the Thailand ocean. Thailand fight scene will be back up and running soon, so will look to compete in the MMA and Muay Thai scene.
A.C.: Are you in contact with any of your teammates?
Tai: Yes across the board everyone has been reaching out and staying connected.
A.C.: What do you miss the most about the LFC?
Tai: The live shows in Las Vegas at The Nerd Bar location. The night was so much fun, titties, violence, and video games (amen).
A.C.: What are your LFC expectations going forward?
Tai: Taking on the first fight for the show and just giving back to the fans. They’ve stayed true in wanting the show back up after safety is announced to hold shows! We owe it to them.
A.C.: How do you see things changing in sports or life in general after this is all over?
Tai: I sure hope everyone has the sense of appreciation and gratitude towards their own life and the possibilities we have.
A.C.: Have your fans shown their appreciation for you during this inactive period?
Tai: Yes the true supporters have understood the inactive period; we are going through this globally. It’s given the opportunity to express what was happening in our own environments. Reporting from each country, it’s been interesting to connect with fans like that.
A.C.: Anything you want to say to your fans?
Tai: Cheers for all the love and positivity.
A.C.: Is there anything you have learned about yourself or others while we wait for things to return to normal?
Tai: Peace and stability is only ever present within.
A.C.: Any funny quarantine stories you want to share?
Tai: I’m all out of jokes mate.
A.C.: Anything else you want your fans to know about you? Upcoming events, social media, promos, etc…
