This week’s featured fighter is current LFC Champion Andreea Vladoi [0-0]. The Bucharest, Romania native is a former Olympic gymnast who had been competing in underground fights in Europe when she came to the attention of LFC Prez Maxine Frost [0-0] who signed her to a contract in time for LFC21 [0-0]. In what would be the first of three fights with Jolene Hexx [0-0], Vladoi impressed with her rapid fire punches and aggressive style. Vladoi’s LFC21 debut would result in the first draw in LFC history. At LFC22 [0-0] Vladoi famously refused to fight in the maid costume Frost forced her to wear, ripping it off and throwing it to the crowd. She would go on to lose the fight in a controversial decision. At LFC23 [0-0] Vladoi faced Holly Mei [0-0] and overwhelmed the future LFC Prez with a 2nd round submission win. When LFC visited Europe for the first time Vladoi was given the opportunity to become the LFC’s first European Champion at LFC24 [0-0] but those dreams were foiled by arch-rival Hexx who once again got the better of the former Olympian. Vladoi took the decision very badly, throwing her shoes at Hexx and spitting on the judges. Vladoi returned to the cage at LFC25 [0-0] where she seemed to take on all her frustrations on former teammate Lauren Fogle [0-0] with a convincing first round beat down. Nursing an injured shoulder Vladoi couldn’t fight at the next three events but still made her presence felt, accepting a YouTube Award at LFC26 [0-0] and filling in for the suspended Coach Leon Hater at LFC27 [0-0] where she coached her fighters to a 4-1 record. Finally at LFC29 [0-0] Vladoi got another shot at a championship and defeated Shay Mazzato [0-0] by unanimous decision to capture the belt she’d so long coveted.
