Today we look back at Jenny Valentine 's [0-0] debut at LFC20 [0-0]. To say it was one of the most memorable fights in LFC history wouldn’t be an exaggeration. Valentine was matched against Riley Norris [0-0] and fared well against the more experienced fighter in the first half of the opening round. But then she did something as instinctual to a brawler as breathing – she punched Norris in the face, knocking her out cold. Celebration soon turned to confusion as she was disqualified. It seems Valentine didn’t get the memo that stand up strikes to the face were no longer permitted (the large audience at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas let NLAC Commissioner Lizzie Hunter know what they thought of the new rule). As though losing wasn’t bad enough LFC Prez Michelle Blanchard [0-0] hit Valentine with a lifetime suspension for the illegal hit which forced Riley into retirement. Luckily her successor and new LFC Prez Maxine Frost [0-0] overturned the ban and allowed Valentine to return for LFC24 [0-0].
